1. Where were you before A2E?

Before coming to A2E, I was a Ph.D. student at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). While attending FAU, my projects involved developing potential blood-based diagnostics for pancreatic cancer and a blood-based point-of-care rapid diagnostic for HIV—both involved using some bioinformatics. I started working with A2E in 2022 and have continued with them ever since!

2. How has your experience helped A2E clients?

As a Ph.D. student, you learn many different things. Yes science, but that’s a smaller component compared to the wide array of skills like critical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, and creativity. These unique skills enable me to present information so that it’s clear, concise, and accurate. The experience has allowed me to hone in on our clients' main areas of focus and help develop presentations and educational materials.

So far, in my time spent with A2E, I’ve worked on numerous initiatives for Alcon, Halozyme, and Palmona Pathogenomics, including advisory board engagement activities and speaker training meetings. But one of the projects I’m most proud of up to this point has been helping Halozyme with their mechanism of action (MOA) video for TLANDO® (testosterone undecanoate), an FDA-approved oral testosterone replacement therapy.

3. How would you describe your experience with A2E?

My experience with A2E has definitely been a whirlwind since the start. In the beginning, everything was new to me, I was learning a surplus of new ophthalmology terms with Alcon—the first client I had the opportunity to work with. The learning curve has indeed been a big one. About a month after joining the team, I was already traveling for advisory board meetings, and from there, it’s been humbling in the best ways possible.

I started working with our Halozyme client partners and was trusted with more projects as the year progressed. I’m still humbled by how much trust Mark and the team placed in me that by the end of 2022, I was the lead medical writer on several projects, producing critical content and executive meeting reports for multiple advisory boards. It’s been an incredible experience all around, and that is undoubtedly because of how our team functions. It’s a fantastic environment. Everyone that I’ve worked with at A2E has been amazing, supportive, and encouraging. It’s the warmest work environment I’ve ever experienced!

4. How would you describe what you do?

I work with clients and our internal A2E team to develop presentation slide decks for peer-to-peer promotional speaker programs and ad boards. I also provide scientific expertise and help to collect and compile detailed information and reports from clients, to ensure both internal and client teams have an actionable plan. From there, I develop clear deadlines and a detailed summary of group discussions that can be referenced at a later date.

5. What areas are you passionate about?

I enjoy the opportunity to learn about new, diverse areas of therapy across various medical fields. It's exciting to acquire and apply new knowledge to create deliverables that bring satisfaction and pride to our clients in their programs and products.

Some of my more diverse areas of interest include oncology and infectious diseases. Palmona, one of our client partners, operates in the fields of infectious disease and bioinformatics. This area holds a special place in my heart as it aligns closely with my graduate training. I'm really excited to broaden the scope of my projects to include pieces that highlight and showcase the remarkable work carried out by our client partners.
